Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her real name Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her Pho EP. This was the moment that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 with her release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she dropped additional music on the internet including Bound. In 2015, she was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat released on the 21st of July. J. Cole had her submit her tracks for the Dreamville Team later that year because he was hoping for Rihanna to work together on a few references. It was announced on the 8th of December that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat is one of the songs was written by her and Cozz on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II. The 21st of October, 2016, she released her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus together with Bas and her labelmates. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on September 5. She released her second single Grampa on November 9. She then released on the 13th of November two singles called One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. She then appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on February 26, 2019 for her debut album the same title. A music video was released on 20 February 2019 to go along with the track. Within a period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. In December of 2018, she was an opening act for the From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
